Product-specific release acknowledgment
Review before opening the ΔSyn Compression Lab
This page explains the exact release class, open-source license, scientific boundaries, known limitations, and user responsibilities for UVLM ΔSyn Conditional Compression Lab 0.2.0-alpha.1.
- Public Open-Source Research Preview
- MPL-2.0
- Source-first
- Local-only
- Unsigned Windows convenience packages
1. Release status
The product is a public open-source research preview. It is not presented as production ready, certified, professionally assured, universally compatible, malware free, or suitable for unsupervised high-stakes use.
2. Scientific boundaries
The lab evaluates conditional coding with explicitly declared side information. It does not claim to beat or revise Shannon, compress arbitrary meaning, outperform established codecs generally, prove energy savings, validate GUFT as physical law, or certify truth.
3. Explicit donors and honest negative results
You choose any donor or shared prior. The software does not discover or
select one automatically. A negative gain, an unrelated donor, or
NO_BENEFICIAL_DONOR is a valid research result.
4. Locality, models, and memory
The declared product path is local-only. It makes no provider or model call, trains nothing, federates nothing, and performs no PMR or other memory write. PMR output is a recommendation plus a no-action receipt, not a retention action.
5. Your files and research decisions
You are responsible for choosing files you are authorized to process, safeguarding originals and backups, protecting sensitive information, interpreting results, and deciding whether any observation is useful. Do not email UVLM target files, donor files, passwords, private keys, or sensitive run packages without an approved transfer route.
6. Verification and hashes
Compare downloaded files with their published SHA-256 values. A matching hash establishes byte identity. It does not prove correctness, truth, authorship, consent, legality, safety, or fitness for a particular use.
7. Windows convenience packages
The Windows portable and installer-candidate packages are unsigned experimental conveniences, not frozen signed native applications. They require the compatible local Python runtime and documented prerequisites. Windows or organizational policy may warn or block them.
8. Warranty, support, and change
The software is provided under the license and with the limitations published for this release. Support is best effort. A successor may repair, replace, or retire behavior, but UVLM will not silently change the exact identity of this version.
9. Voluntary nonprofit support
Donations are optional and separate from access, features, verification, scientific results, ordinary support priority, and governance decisions.
10. Site terms
UVLM's general site terms and privacy notice also apply to use of this website. They do not replace the software license.
