Triadic Brain Scientific Progress Report — Repository Scan Draft

Scope: Repo-grounded scientific progress summary for CoherenceLattice, Sophia, and UVLM publication/memory surfaces.

Core framing: The Triadic Brain is becoming a local-first, artifact-governed cognition system: evidence enters through canonical grounding; model/tool cognition enters through typed Sonya packets; CoherenceLattice derives metrics and review artifacts; Sophia governs risk; Atlas/PMR preserve bounded memory posture; Publisher renders receipts without canonizing.


1. Executive status

The project has moved beyond pure placeholder scaffolding. The current repos contain runnable contracts, schemas, runtime metric derivations, acceptance registries, local review artifacts, WAVE Rosetta physics controls, Phase 6 semantic review mechanisms, Sonya membrane scaffolds, Evidence Review Packs, real-world benchmark scaffolds, retrosynthesis sandbox cycle packets, and cognitive flow morphology/topology diagnostics.

However, the project is not yet a mature universal AI operating system, live federation, production-grade multi-model middleware, or demonstrated hallucination-reduction product. The current truthful state is:

The strongest scientific progress is that the system increasingly knows what not to claim. This matters. The experiment registry repeatedly separates accepted fixture status from blocked claims such as truth certification, deployment authority, final-answer release, hallucination-reduction proof, model superiority, remote provider behavior, and production evaluation.


2. Current scientific thesis

The defensible thesis is:

A source-grounded, artifact-governed AI cognition layer can improve analytical rigor by preserving evidence lineage, claim-state visibility, uncertainty, counterevidence, provenance, metric derivation, and non-authority boundaries before model outputs become memory, publication, or action.

The thesis should not be overstated as:

The system proves truth.
The system is universally intelligent.
The system eliminates hallucinations.
The system authorizes governance or deployment.
The system is a live P2P swarm.
The system has solved multimodal cognition.

A stronger scientific claim is:

Triadic Brain converts AI work into inspectable artifacts,
then derives diagnostic metrics and route states from those artifacts.

3. Architecture spine

The repo state supports the following architecture map.

3.1 Evidence ingress

Evidence enters through GroundingBundle / RequestEnvelope, not raw model memory.

Key doctrine:

3.2 Sonya cognition membrane

Sonya is the model/tool/sensor membrane. Model outputs are typed candidates, not answers.

Key doctrine:

3.3 CoherenceLattice metrics and review

CoherenceLattice derives:

3.4 Sophia governance

Sophia governs route and risk through packet-based bridge decisions. It does not become truth by itself.

3.5 Atlas / PMR memory

Atlas and PMR handle bounded memory posture, provenance, lifecycle, and prior intent. They must not restamp priors as source truth or silently authorize memory writes.

3.6 Publisher

Publisher renders overlays, dashboards, receipts, and memory-facing metadata. It must not recompute formal truth or canonize candidates.


4. Invariant and metric implementation

The central invariant remains:

Current runtime mapping:

The metrics are artifact-derived, not magic constants. Current MET-LOCAL-00 reads local runtime artifacts, source-span rows, claim classifications, Sophia posture, TEL replay, PMR indexing, run manifest status, and export parity. It emits:

The documentation explicitly warns that these are early operational proxies, not truth certification, final-answer authority, accepted evidence authority, memory-write authority, deployment authority, product release, universal ontology proof, psychological measures, human-worth scores, moral proof, social proof, or human-benefit proof.


5. WAVE Rosetta / Gold-Physics progress

The experiment registry now recognizes WAVE-00R through WAVE-03R and the WAVE-GOLD-PHYSICS-FAMILY as accepted Gold-Physics calibration controls.

The accepted family covers:

WAVE-00R — constructive / cancellation controls
WAVE-01R — detuning spiral and phase windows
WAVE-02R — unequal-amplitude incomplete cancellation
WAVE-03R — noise/jitter observability degradation
WAVE-GOLD-PHYSICS-FAMILY — closed-form waveform metric calibration family

The WAVE family is explicitly bounded:

not AI consciousness
not retrosynthesis authorization
not TCHES replacement
not UNI-02 portability proof

not truth certification

Scientific interpretation:

WAVE is now the correct invariant-calibration baseline.
TCHES remains an applied engineering/governance control.

Most important theoretical result:

High Ψ can coexist with destructive cancellation.
Therefore Ψ alone must not be treated as constructive output, truth, or authority.

6. Evidence Review Pack and real-world benchmark progress

The registry shows several accepted fixture/product-facing lanes:

This is meaningful progress. The stack now includes:

Scientific interpretation:

Evidence Review Pack is now the leading product/science path.
The claim is source-bounded review visibility, not hallucination reduction proof yet.

7. TAF runtime proxy

TAF-RUNTIME-00 is now implemented as:

Important interpretation:

Lower action is better only if boundaries remain visible and preserved.

This is central. A run should not improve its TAF score by hiding uncertainty, skipping TEL, bypassing PMR, dropping rejected inputs, or deleting unsupported claims.


8. Cognitive flow morphology/topology

Earlier, flow morphology was not implemented. The current repo state now shows FLOW-RUNTIME-00 exists as bounded diagnostics.

It emits:

The tests confirm schema validity, required nodes, required edges, spiral turns, non-authority guardrails, PMR/Sonya indexing, and negative controls for missing TEL, missing PMR, missing formula registry, Sonya coverage gaps, and forbidden Omega artifacts.

Scientific interpretation:

Flow morphology/topology is now implemented as a diagnostic runtime topology.
It remains not truth certification, not consciousness proof, not Omega detection, and not universal ontology proof.
Repeated runs and calibration are required before population-level scientific claims.

9. Sonya / AEGIS / Publisher boundary progress

The Sonya Runtime Gateway doctrine is now represented in code and documentation:

Sonya is a membrane, not an oracle.
Candidate packets are not answers.
Model output is not truth certification.
Sonya packets are not memory authorization or deployment authority.
Evidence still enters through GroundingBundle / RequestEnvelope.

Accepted Sonya/Aegis/Publisher lanes include:

They do not cover recursive Sonya federation, live Sophia calls, live Atlas writes, Publisher finalization, truth certification, deployment, or final-answer release.

Scientific interpretation:

Sonya-Publisher boundaries are increasingly real as local deterministic route scaffolds.
Live federation and live provider integration remain future work.

10. Retrosynthesis progress

RETRO-LANE-00 is partial and policy-only. It admits policy-scoped sandbox candidates but does not implement full retrosynthesis runtime.

RETROSYNTHESIS-SANDBOX-CYCLE-01 is accepted and represents a bounded candidate-repair cycle for incomplete Evidence Review Pack artifacts. It emits:

It explicitly does not test live model execution, remote provider calls, live adapter execution, live Sophia invocation, live Atlas memory writes, memory-write authorization, prior canonization, Publisher finalization, final-answer release, deployment, truth certification, professional advice, compliance certification, hallucination-reduction proof, model superiority, Omega detection, or unbounded recursive self-improvement.

Scientific interpretation:

Retrosynthesis is beginning as bounded candidate repair, not discovery authority.
This is the correct safety posture.

11. Universal evidence ingress and portability

UNIVERSAL-EVIDENCE-INGRESS-00 is accepted as a fixture-only universal evidence ingress scaffold. It converts local evidence into GroundingBundle-ready or hash-only admission artifacts.

UNI-02D remains partial. It includes Sonya-required membrane and quarantine artifacts:

It still does not prove clean universality, domain-independent ontology, final-answer authority, universal portability, memory authorization, deployment authority, or truth certification.

Scientific interpretation:

The system is learning to distinguish application portability from universal claim truth.
This remains partial until prior-origin and profile quarantine are clean.

12. Publication and Atlas overlay posture

The UVLM publications repo is the canonical source for scholarly publications and DOI minting, with deterministic metadata, content hashes, catalog, knowledge graph, and deposit logs.

It defines a deterministic knowledge graph built from catalog metadata and declared relations, avoiding inferred similarity edges and ontology expansion in phase 1.

It also preserves the triadic phase-lock order:

CoherenceLattice → Sophia → Publisher

Publisher/Atlas renders overlays and memory-facing metadata without recomputing CoherenceLattice formal truth or independently authorizing memory, canonization, deployment, or publication finalization.

Scientific interpretation:

Publisher is becoming the presentation layer for provenance,
not a truth or canon engine.

13. What is scientifically strong now

The strongest current claims are:

1. Evidence ingress contracts exist and are becoming portable.
2. Runtime metrics are artifact-derived, not hardcoded constants.
3. Ψ = E × T is implemented as a runtime proxy relation.
4. WAVE Gold-Physics controls provide closed-form calibration context.
5. TAF exists as a diagnostic Total Action Functional runtime proxy.
6. Flow morphology/topology now exists as bounded diagnostic runtime topology.
7. Evidence Review Pack v0.1 exists as an accepted fixture.
8. Real-world benchmark scaffolds exist with strict blocked-claim discipline.
9. Sonya/AEGIS/Publisher boundaries are implemented as deterministic local fixtures.
10. Retrosynthesis exists as sandboxed candidate repair, not authority.
11. The project has strong non-authority discipline.

14. What remains scientifically weak or unproven

The weak/unproven areas are:

1. Human benefit is not yet tested.
2. Hallucination reduction is not yet proven.
3. Model superiority is not shown and should not be claimed.
4. Live model/provider behavior remains underdeveloped.
5. True Sonya multi-model braid is not yet a proven live product.
6. Federation/LAN/network authority remains blocked.
7. Atlas prior leakage risk remains a major design risk.
8. Multimodal ingestion remains future or scaffold-only.
9. Flow morphology is diagnostic but not population-calibrated.
10. TAF weights are declared/provisional, not empirically calibrated.
11. Evidence Review Pack needs real user-facing UX validation.
12. External reproduction and reviewer studies are still needed.

16. Draft public progress statement

The following wording is scientifically safer for public communication:

The Triadic Brain project has progressed from conceptual architecture into a repo-backed experimental system for auditable AI cognition. The current stack includes canonical evidence ingress, artifact-derived coherence metrics, WAVE Gold-Physics calibration controls, an Evidence Review Pack fixture, bounded Total Action Functional diagnostics, cognitive flow morphology/topology diagnostics, Sonya model-output membrane scaffolds, and deterministic Publisher/Atlas boundary routes. These components are not truth certification, deployment authority, or hallucination-reduction proof. They are controlled scientific instruments for making AI work source-linked, inspectable, and easier to review.


17. Bottom line

The Triadic Brain is not finished, but it is increasingly real.

The project’s scientific center of gravity has shifted from:

naming architecture

to:

deriving metrics from artifacts,
testing boundaries,
emitting review packets,
and preventing overclaim.

The next truth test is not another named lane. The next truth test is:

Can an external human reviewer use the Evidence Review Pack and flow/TAF metrics
to verify claims faster and catch unsupported output more reliably
than with raw model output?

That is where the system becomes scientifically persuasive.
