Research Alpha — Human Review Required

Terms & Informed Use

Use Open Web Steward as a bounded review aid—not as an automatic publisher, compliance certificate, security guarantee, or substitute for human judgment.

The workbench can make a web-production process more structured, visible, and replayable. It cannot decide whether the underlying product claims are true, whether affected people consent, or whether the finished page is lawful, secure, accessible, appropriate, and ready to publish.

The controlling posture

Every output remains bounded by its exact source, validator version, executed checks, and human review state.

Candidate is not final

Model-generated HTML remains an untrusted candidate. A clean preview or favorable finding count does not make it an approved publication.

PASS is not authority

A PASS means only that one named deterministic rule passed. WARN, FAIL, NOT_APPLICABLE, and NOT_EXECUTED retain their separate meanings.

Hash is not truth

SHA-256 can identify exact bytes and reveal later alteration. It does not establish correctness, authorship, safety, legality, or usefulness.

Human responsibility remains

The user remains responsible for source accuracy, content approval, accessibility, security, legal review, CMS behavior, live testing, and publication.

Local workbench, separate model boundary

Normal workbench operation performs no model call, fetch, XMLHttpRequest, WebSocket, EventSource, service-worker registration, cookie write, localStorage write, sessionStorage write, or IndexedDB write.

Important distinction. The user may separately copy a generated capsule into a local or hosted model. That transfer occurs outside the workbench and is governed by the selected model, interface, provider, and network. Open Web Steward does not conceal or control that boundary.

Do not submit secrets

Do not place passwords, credentials, private keys, unpublished security details, or other secrets into a third-party model.

Protect affected people

Do not send private personal, medical, legal, employment, child, survivor, or other sensitive records to a model merely because the workbench itself is local.

Human decision meanings

The four postures are intentionally not interchangeable.

DecisionMeaningAuthority created
APPROVEAcceptable within the declared local review scope only.No publication or deployment authority.
HOLDDo not proceed until unresolved work is addressed.None.
REJECTThe candidate is unsuitable for the declared task.None.
REQUEST_REPAIRAuthorize one bounded successor tied to named observed findings.Repair authority only for the exact direct successor.

One decision, one packet, one successor. A repair packet may not silently expand scope, authorize repeated successors, erase the original candidate, or promote the successor without another human decision.

Do not rely on this Alpha for claims it does not make

Accessibility

Automated indicators cannot establish WCAG conformance or replace keyboard-only, screen-reader, low-vision, cognitive-usability, and affected-person evaluation.

Security

The preview is an allowlist-based defensive transformation, not a complete sanitizer. Independent security review was not executed.

Legal and factual accuracy

The workbench does not determine rights, regulatory compliance, trademark status, privacy obligations, or whether a product claim is substantively true.

Search and marketing

It does not promise indexing, ranking, conversion, traffic, discoverability, or SEO improvement.

Models

No live model comparison was executed for the exact release. The Alpha does not claim to improve model weights, intelligence, or general capability.

Production

This is a public research Alpha. Production use is not authorized by the exact release receipt.

Licensing and attribution

The exact rights ledger controls file by file.

MPL-2.0

Software and machine contracts

Workbench code, validators, schemas, tests, tools, and code templates use the Mozilla Public License 2.0 where the file-level record says so.

CC BY 4.0

Educational and explanatory material

Pedagogical prose, task capsules, examples, and documentation use Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 where the file-level record says so.

Exact allocation matters. The combined label MPL-2.0 AND CC-BY-4.0 describes the package posture. It does not mean every individual file carries both licenses.

Correction and responsible reporting

Report reproducible defects with the exact Alpha version, source SHA-256, browser and operating system, input fixture or redacted reproduction, expected behavior, and observed behavior. Security reports should avoid public disclosure of exploit details until a safe correction path is agreed.
